Yes, I know

Posted in Miscellaneous on November 22, 2008 by Amy Floyd Blog

I am supposed to finish this painting I started a year ago.  I know I know!! But, hey, all the birthdays and parties and Thanksgiving are going to mess me up.  So, I was surfing on this net and found this.  A perfect way to procrastinate cooking, cleaning and it is all art related. Have fun!!

Art Show

Posted in Miscellaneous on November 12, 2008 by Amy Floyd Blog

Thanks to all who came to the art show.  It was a lot of fun and a good learning experience for me.  I actually sold one!! Yeah!! But, it was to another artist; does that count:)  Being there just made me want to paint more so that is a good thing. I was very proud of all of my students who sent in beautiful pieces of art.  They made our school look good. Keep up the great work!!

Art show this weekend, come check it out

There is no must in art because art is free. Wasily Kandinsky

I found this blog that does only artist’s quotes.  (check it out on the right)  I love this one and it seemed fitting to me since I just got done teaching the kindergartners about abstract art and Wasily Kandinsky.   We made silly hands Kandinsky style.  Some of them were so good I wanted to take them home and frame them.  Makes me love my job; even with kindergartners!!  I also love Kandinsky who happened to be an inspiration to me when I first started out.  Enjoy!Composition VII, Kandinsky
